Exes Miley Cyrus and Justin Gaston have raised some eyebrows in recent weeks with their tweets to each other, especially some messages about the John Mayer breakup ode, “Comfortable.”
Then, on Saturday, aspiring musician Gaston posted a YouTube video of himself covering the song. Before playing the song he said, “What’s up? My name is Justin Gaston and I’m really bored on a Saturday night here in Nashville, so I decided to play [for] whoever’s going to listen to this song. It’s called ‘Comfortable.’ It’s by John Mayer.”
The former “Nashville Star” finalist, sporting a white T-shirt and his long hair pulled behind his ears, accompanies himself with acoustic guitar. The song, which originally appeared on Mayer’s EP Inside Wants Out, is about a guy who misses his former flame and their relaxed, comfortable relationship, despite finding a new girlfriend.
After breaking up with 20-year-old Gaston earlier this year, Cyrus, 16, was spotted back with ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas in Georgia. Cyrus and Nick’s brother, Joe, both confirmed the relationship, as rumors spread that Nick was the cause of her split with Gaston.
Although no official word has come out of either camp about where the relationship stands between Jonas and Cyrus, her latest Twittermance with Gaston has Miley fans wondering if they had once again split.
“Listening to Comfortable and thinking of you. I miss your voice.” Cyrus wrote, apparently to Gaston, on her Twitter page in late July, when she was on the set of her next movie, “The Last Song.” She later asked him, “Why in every picture of you as a kid are you eating ice cream?”
